With refurbished interiors and a redesigned exhibition layout, the museum presents a selection of the most significant artworks and artifacts from the collections of the Museum and Civic Art gallery. The rooms are organized into several thematic sections: The Middle Ages and Civic Life explores the city’s civic identity and historical roots. This section also features a magnificent cycle of frescoes depicting scenes from the legend of King Arthur. The expansion of the museum’s collections, from the second half of the nineteenth century onward, reflects the close relationship between the city and its museum. The Art Rooms are the focal point for the heritage of Alessandria but also a place where the city’s collective memory is preserved and its contemporary cultural identity is celebrated. The Art Rooms host temporary exhibitions during the year (for information refer to the single dedicated events). Admission ticket reduced to €3.50. MUSEUM OPENING TIMES The Art Rooms are open on Saturday and Sunday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Awaiting the new exhibition displays, the cost of the admission ticket for the Arthurian exhibition will be reduced. Full ticket: € 5.00 Reduced ticket: € 3.00 – from 12 to 18 years of age and over 65s, university students, groups (min. 12 people) Free admission: journalists registered in the Order of Journalists, up to 12 years of age, holders of the Turin Museum pass and holders of the Torino + Piemonte card, Banca di Asti Museum voucher, disabled people and carers, group leaders and teachers who accompany classes for workshops.
